Whether you're young and just learning or older and well behind, Typing Tournament v2 is a game for the MAC OS that teaches you the basic fundamentals of typing and challenges you to compete in competitions and races to improve how you type. It's ideal for kids over the age of 5, and adults who never quite got the hang of a keyboard.

Developed by EdAvlive, this game was released a little over four years ago and is a full version software package that comes in at just over 100mb in size. It is not free, however; you will have to pay for this game. English is its only available language. The game is available for the Mac and Mac OS X operating systems.

How Typing Tournament v2 Works

One thing users are going to notice out of the gate about this game is just how many features there are. Although it is technically a game, it's also a learning tool, and so you're going to initially see that there are many levels. For instance, if you're just starting out, you can play in the “Let's try again” section, where you'll simply follow along and try to type what's on the screen.

If you're more of a skilled typist yet haven't typed anything in quite a while, you can play the “Need a refresher” side and get reacquainted with your skills. The aesthetics, with children as characters, make it look like strictly a kids' game, but it has plenty of stuff for adults to help them type better, including competitions.

Typing Tournament v2 Features

The quest-line offered by Typing Tournament v2 is probably its coolest feature. Apart from being able to select your different skill levels for practice, you will also be taken through a variety of levels to see how well you can do in a competition setting. These levels are going to increase in difficulty as you advance, throwing tougher challenges at you like numbers, punctuation and more.

You will be challenging a character known as the Dark Typist, whose skills will level up with you and present you much more of a challenge as you advance through the game. The better you do, the more you will challenged. Though it's all about having fun while learning.
